Epilepsy Scotland statement on the death of Her Majesty the Queen

Everyone at Epilepsy Scotland wishes to express our profound sadness following the death of Her Majesty the Queen, announced by Buckingham Palace yesterday afternoon.

Queen Elizabeth II was a remarkable person who dedicated her life to the service of the United Kingdom as our Head of State, a position Her Majesty served with immense dignity, gaining the respect and admiration of so many across Scotland, the UK and around the world.

Her Majesty was a supporter of epilepsy charities and had been the Patron of the Epilepsy Society since 1952.

The Queen was also a beloved mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother, and so we send our condolences to her family at this time.

As a mark of respect we will not make any further posts on social media for the rest of the day and over the weekend.

Epilepsy Scotland support services will continue as normal and of course our epilepsy helpline will remain open during our usual opening hours between 10am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday (0808 800 2200).
