Why I signed up to the RUN4SIX Challenge

Our supporter Dan explains why he has signed up to our new RUN4SIX Challenge.

“I only started running recently and discovered it’s something I not only enjoy but reap the benefits from both physically and mentally.

When I saw the RUN4SIX challenge I knew it would give me a goal to work towards.

This is the first time I have signed up to a charity challenge and I knew I wanted to raise money for a charity that means something to me.

I was diagnosed with epilepsy at 17 and I am now 28! It’s taking me a good few years to understand the condition and learn to live with it.

I hope by taking part in this challenge, I will be able to raise awareness of epilepsy and give more people insight into the challenges people face on a daily basis and the lives that are affected by it.

I would also like to thank my friends, family and colleagues for all their support.”

Virtual events

Our RUN4SIX Challenge is one of our new virtual events launching on Monday 20 May for National Epilepsy Week.

We are looking for a team of supporters to sign up to the challenge to help raise funds and awareness.

This is your challenge, you can decide the distance you would like to cover each week and how you choose to do it. We are asking people to run but you can also walk, cycle or even swim!

Registration is free. We will support you each step of the way with fundraising and you will even get a free t-shirt to wear as you cross over your virtual finish line!

If you are interested and would like to know more, please get in touch with us today fundraising@epilepsyscotland.org.uk
