Purple Day 2025

“I started Purple Day because even though I had told my peers about my epilepsy, I still didn’t know anyone who had it.

I wanted to find others who had epilepsy in the world and to then let them know that they aren’t alone and that they don’t have to feel scared and alone anymore.

Also, I wanted to have one day that belonged to us, one day that we can come together and spread mass awareness to the world.”

Cassidy Megan, Purple Day Founder

Join a Global Movement!

On Wednesday 26 March, thousands of people worldwide will paint the globe purple for an extraordinary cause – raising awareness and understanding of epilepsy.

This powerful movement brings communities together, both in person and online, to spark vital conversations and make a real difference.

The story behind Purple Day is just as inspiring as its impact. In 2008, young Cassidy Megan, who lives with epilepsy herself, had a vision to create a day that would break down barriers and connect people affected by the condition.

She chose purple – the colour of the lavender flower, the international symbol of epilepsy – to transform what was once a symbol of isolation into one of unity and hope.
