Epilepsy information

Having a better understanding of epilepsy and the different types of seizures, as well as learning about treatment options, possible triggers and what you can do to help yourself can be empowering and may give you back a sense of control of your life.

Our information leaflets are primarily aimed at adults with epilepsy, as well as parents and carers. We also have specific information for employers, teachers and children.

We regularly review and update all our written information, and ask medical professionals such as our own in-house medical specialists, external epilepsy specialist nurses and neurologists, to check this for accuracy.  This means you can trust our information.  .

We also regularly review reputable epilepsy websites to check for consensus on main themes and new developments. These sites include Epilepsy Action, Epilepsy Society, Epilepsy Research UK, SUDEP Action and (American) Epilepsy Foundation.

It’s all free to download or request from us. Contact us on 0808 800 2200, email contact@epilepsyscotland.org.uk, or make contact with us on social media.

If you cannot find what you are looking for, ask us. We can also write information to address a specific subject or meet a particular need.
