In a powerful demonstration of community spirit and corporate social responsibility, Tigers Group, a Glasgow-based company, has raised an impressive £9,560 for Epilepsy Scotland.
The fundraising effort culminated in the completion of the Dundee Kiltwalk last month, a challenging 20-mile trek undertaken in memory of their beloved colleague, Richard Loughran.
Richard, who joined Tigers Group at the age of 16 and dedicated 16 years of his life to the company, tragically passed away in 2020 due to Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).
His untimely death at 33 has sparked a movement within the company to raise awareness and support for those living with epilepsy.
“Richard was a lovely, fun-loving guy who never said no,” said Aisling Bent, Health and Wellness Co-ordinator at Tigers Group. “If he was still with us, he would have been first to volunteer for such an event, so it felt fitting to do in his honour. His loyalty and spirit were integral to our company culture.”
The Dundee Kiltwalk saw 13 members of the Tigers Group team brave the challenging terrain, marking their third Kiltwalk event. Previously, the team completed Kiltwalks in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Jane Roberts, Fundraising Manager at Epilepsy Scotland, expressed profound gratitude: “We are deeply thankful for the Tigers Group’s incredible fundraising efforts.
“Their commitment not only honours Richard’s memory but also creates a lasting impact on the lives of people with epilepsy across Scotland. Support from companies like Tigers Group is crucial in enabling us to provide vital information, support, and services.”
