Free ways to support us - Epilepsy Scotland

Give a can a home

We are looking for good homes for our Epilepsy Scotland collecting cans to help us reach our fundraising targets. It really is amazing how small change can mount up without you even noticing. In 2018 we received almost £4,000 from collecting cans placed in communities across the country!

If you know of a shop, club, pub or workplace that could look after one of our purple boxes then please get in touch by email or by calling 0141 427 4911.

All we would ask of you is to place the can, let us know where it is and help us to collect it when full.

If you are currently holding a collecting can for us and would like to empty it and make a donation, please contact us to find out how you can pay.

We are proud to announce a new and exciting partnership with DrugStars. DrugStars is an easy to use app that allows you to give donations to patient charities like us, and the great news is these cash donations are free for you to give. All you have to do is take your meds as prescribed and review them so you can track your progress.

So how does the app work?

Once you have downloaded the app you simply add your medicines, pain killers, pills, vitamins etc and set up your reminders so the app can help you stay on top of when you take what. Many other apps do this, but they don’t do what comes next…

Once you have taken your medication and clicked on the pill icon, you will get your reward in the form of DrugStars. These stars allow you to donate to health charities in need, like us.

Should you wish to share your success through a social network and help grow the DrugStars movement you are rewarded with even more stars, which means you can donate even more.

Reviewing your medication periodically will not only give you even more stars but will help you manage just how you are doing with your treatment plan, and it only takes a few minutes.

This tracking can be useful when visiting your doctor, or simply conversing with your pharmacist.

By verifying your medicine in the DrugStars app, you will be able to track your progress, receive advice and gain a better understanding of your medication experience.

At the same time, you’re providing data that can affect the development of new and better medicines for us all. So remember to review, it really can help save lives.

You can download the app from the Apple store or for Android devices from Google Play.
