Bryan Hislop

Following a seizure during his first university exam in 1999, Bryan was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour. He recovered well from neurosurgery in 2001 and 2017, however, status epilepticus has resulted in more recent admissions to ICU.

Appointed to the board of Epilepsy Scotland in 2020, he is a Chartered Secretary and Governance Professional and the Company Secretary of MDDUS, a financial services mutual group providing indemnity, advice, and support to healthcare professionals in the UK.

Bryan is also a trustee of ICUsteps, the intensive care patient support charity. He is a fan of the theatre (anything) and a photographer.
