Assembly talk overview

The assembly talk is aimed at pupils of all ages at primary school to raise awareness of epilepsy, reduce stigma and highlight how they can help someone with epilepsy.

We give a brief overview of epilepsy by explaining:

  • simplified version of what happens in the brain and it’s function within the body
  • introduce what happens during seizure and what may happen to the individual
  • how to help if someone is having a seizure
  • support and encouragement for someone who has epilepsy

Delivery and fees

This workshop is delivered free of charge.

The delivery will take place at your school by one of our youth workers using a presentation and short animation. The talk can be altered to the needs of the pupils and we can make sure we cover certain seizure types if there is a child within the school who has epilepsy.

To book

If you are a teacher, or a parent of a child with epilepsy, and want to organise such a talk for your child’s school, feel free to get in touch with our youth worker, Kirstyn at kcameron@epilepsyscotland.org.uk
