Groups and Classes
Living with Epilepsy
This group meets once a month. It provides the opportunity for adults affected by epilepsy to meet for lunch and discuss a variety of topics/issues which affect their lives. Lunch is free.
On the first Thursday of each month a smaller group meets between 4-5 pm to deal more specifically with epilepsy issues.
Sleep Clinics
We have 3 qualified sleep counsellors. They offer a service through Sleep Scotland aimed at supporting parents whose children have chronic sleep difficulties. Usually this takes place in the family home. Advice can also be given over the phone. Call our Helpline on 0808 800 2200
Referrals are made through Sleep Scotland www.sleepscotland.org tel: 0131 226 5458
Parenting Classes
This runs over a 6 week block period. The class aims to help parents find more effective and rewarding methods of managing their child's challenging behaviour. The method used is based on the Webster-Stratton technique and is highly effective. For more information, please contact Michael on 0131 226 5458
Seizure Clinic
These take place at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children www.nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk/hospitals/rhsc.asp in Edinburgh on Tuesday afternoons. It is part of the general seizure clinic run by the paediatric neurology team. One of our support team is usually present to offer information and advice.
