Cooking Project

Research with members of the Rendezvous group, highlighted that many members have a poor diet and know little about healthy eating. This led to the cooking project.

Many of the Rendezvous members live on benefits. This impacts directly on the food that they buy and enforces food inequality. Members agreed they wanted to be taught how to cook different cuisines.

The project covers;

  • Cooking skills
  • Hygiene
  • Healthy eating
  • Health and safety within a kitchen
  • Preparation and preservation
  • Budgeting
  • Smoothies and five portions

Hopefully by the end of the project participants have improved their eating habits and can identify the positive impact it has had on their overall health and well being.
