Community Support Service

Community Support Service

We work with people in their local communities

The service is for adults who have epilepsy and another community care need. This additional need could be learning difficulties, physical impairment, head injury or something else that creates challenges in a person’s life.

The service works in a person-centred way which means that support is different for every individual. Everyone who works here has been trained in using counselling skills as a way of assisting people who use the service.

We offer:

Time to Talk

Regular meetings with a support worker provide an opportunity to talk over particular concerns about personal or practical issues and to find ways of managing them.

Time to Look Ahead

People using the service have an opportunity to look at their life as it is now and how they would like it to be and plan changes they wish to make. The service can offer support through changes like moving towards living more independently.

Support to Take Up Activities and Make Changes

The service can offer support, amongst other things, to find and take up employment, educational opportunities, voluntary work and leisure activities.

Within Glasgow, and with the assistance of a Care Manager, funded places to use the service are available.

If you are a person who would be interested in making use of the service, or a carer or social worker, or someone else who is working with an individual who has epilepsy and another community care need, we would welcome you getting in touch with us.
