Raising Awareness
Epilepsy Scotland works continuously to ensure that we raise awareness of epilepsy. Influencing attitudes helps us to fight discrimination and the social stigma associated with epilepsy. To achieve this goal we involve people with epilepsy and together we inform public opinion, educate the media and influence government policies.
We have worked in conjunction with other like-minded organisations to influence change in health policies that affect people with epilepsy. We have also promoted awareness of epilepsy amongst GPs through the GP resource pack. Find out more
We also continuously strive to make contact with teachers throughout Scotland, providing literature and assisting with epilepsy care training when required. Recently we produced guidelines for teachers, a leaflet that was issued to every school in Scotland to further promote awareness of epilepsy.

Epilepsy Scotland continues to think of new and fresh ideas to raise awareness of epilepsy, ensuring that not only people with epilepsy are aware of the condition.
