Raising Awareness

Influence Attitudes

Epilepsy Scotland work to ensure that the stigma surrounding epilepsy is confrontGuidelines for teachersed. We want to positively influence peoples attitudes towards epilepsy. This is one of the important issues that Epilepsy Scotland endeavors to achieve.

We work with people affected by epilepsy as well as other organisations. Together our aim is to ensure that teachers, GPs, care professionals and the general public are aware and understand epilepsy and how it affects people who live with the condition each day.

Influencing attitudes towards epilepsy is top of our agenda at Epilepsy Scotland. To achieve this we run various campaigns to ensure that we are making an impact with the right people. In recent years we have targeted GPs and teachers to ensure they are aware of epilepsy. Each year we have a Journalist of the Year Award which encourages journalists to write articles on issues that affect people with epilepsy in a way that is both informative and challenging. We want to see an end to myths and misinformation in the media about epilepsy.
