We have produced an Epilepsy Resource Pack for GP’s in Scotland. The pack contains information which helps GP’s to provide better health care for people with epilepsy and helps to raise awareness of epilepsy issues with health professionals.
The first part of the pack, the Toolkit for Epilepsy is intended to help health care professionals in primary care begin to review and to improve services for people with epilepsy.
The second part, the information booklet on the Role of Primary Care in Epilepsy Management, has been produced to assist implementation of the SIGN guidelines and the GMS contract. The SIGN guidelines can be viewed at www.sign.ac.uk/guidelines
Both of these important documents have helped us to raise awareness of epilepsy issues with health professionals working in primary care.
