Policy Work : Work Together
Long Term Conditions Alliance for Scotland (LTCAS)
The LTCAS was formally launched in May 2006. The group, of which Epilepsy Scotland is a founder member, brin gs together voluntary and community organisations across Scotland with the aim of helping to meet the needs of people living with long term medical conditions.
Susan Douglas-Scott our Chief Executive, who sits on the board of directors of the Alliance, explains:
“There are an estimated 2 million people living with long-term medical conditions in Scotland; 40,000 of which with epilepsy. The LTCAS’ vision is for these people to be able to enjoy better control over their health and be able to live as fulfilling a life as possible. Epilepsy Scotland fully support the work of the LTCAS and believe that by working in partnership we can help to improve the lives of those living with long term conditions by influencing and changing public policy and by raising awareness across the health, social care and social policy sectors”.
