Want to know more about epilepsy?
All those interested or wanting to know more about epilepsy can pop into the Marywell Centre, Marywell Street, Aberdeen. On Thursday 1 November, from 6pm to 8pm there will be free information and advice available in room one, Aberdeen Foyer. Epilepsy Scotland Helpline staff will be there to answer questions and highlight the range of support and training courses provided by the national charity.
User Involvement Officer Dave Budd is encouraging people living in Aberdeenshire to come and talk about local epilepsy services and to find out about Epilepsy Scotland’s activities. He said: “This information evening offers the chance for people to share experiences of what’s needed for the area. People can tell us what we can do to help and also discuss other changes they would like to see.”
Local Epilepsy Scotland member, Jo Ritchie commented: “I think this event is a great idea. It helps to educate people about epilepsy so they are better informed. And it reduces the stigma and fear that members of the public have about the condition.”
You can speak to epilepsy specialist nurse, Sheena Bevan, Quarriers epilepsy fieldworker Helen Simpson and Epilepsy Scotland’s staff. This information evening is part of a rolling programme of public awareness-raising events across the country. There’s no limit to the number of friends, family and carers you can bring along!
