Care to join an epilepsy support group?

Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital is the place to visit on Friday 9 November if you want to know a bit more about epilepsy or are interested in joining a local support group.  Epilepsy Scotland group members have an information stand in the main concourse.  It offers free leaflets and literature as well as the chance to sign up and become a member.

User Involvement Officer Dave Budd is encouraging people living in and around Dundee City to come and help themselves to free leaflets, posters and literature.  He also hopes some residents will think about becoming members and support the group’s activities.  He said: “This information day offers people the chance to stop and chat and pick up free leaflets and materials.  It’s good to share experiences and to raise epilepsy awareness.”

Dundee volunteer Rhoddy Grant explained: “This is the third year we have put an epilepsy information stand in the hospital.  Our display is open from 10am till 4pm and the place is always busy.  I think our event makes people more aware that there are places they can get help if anyone has this common condition.  We hope there will be interest for the epilepsy support group and people will be willing to come and join us.”
