The Lighthouse Support Service is available 24 hours a day including waking night shifts and sleepovers.
The Lighthouse Support Service provides one to one support from trained support workers. All of our support workers receive training about different types of epilepsy. We provide assistance that is tailored to the needs and wishes of the people who use our service. The support can include all aspects of personal care, and the administration of medication including emergency epilepsy medication.
People use the service in different ways. Some people want support to attend a work placement or college class. Other people want support to be active in their local communities, for example attending groups, going to the cinema or making new friends.
People can be supported at home to live independently or to provide respite for themselves and/or their family. Support can also be used for short breaks away from home.
We are registered with the Care Inspectorate as a Support Service. You can read inspection reports about the service on the Care Inspectorate website – Lighthouse Support Service (formerly Choices Support Service)
