Lighthouse Outreach Service

This Outreach Service is available in Greater Glasgow and the surrounding areas. It is for adults (aged 16 and above) who require support because they have a disability including:

• A physical disability, including acquired brain injury
• Mental health needs
• A learning disability
   

What does the service offer?

We offer service users:

• Emotional support and time to talk over their life and experiences
• An opportunity to examine and work through a particularly difficult time or transition
• Support to make choices and to set goals to enable them to make the changes they want
• Practical assistance with making changes (like finding employment, voluntary work or a college course; leisure activities and living more independently)

How does the service work?

Outreach workers are trained in using counselling skills to assist people to work out for themselves what they want now and in the future. Outreach workers use planning tools to enable service users to examine their current situation, plan for the future, set goals and make the changes they want in their lives.

Our outreach workers receive training to support people with different types of epilepsy, and are able to administer emergency epilepsy medication if required.

The service can be funded through Individual Budgets, Direct Payments or private arrangements.
