Lighthouse Activity Group

Do you enjoy spending time with like minded people in a supportive environment?  The Lighthouse Activity Group in Glasgow is fun and relaxed.  It provides professional and peer support to adults (aged 16 and above) who require extra support because they have a disability including:

  • A physical disability, including acquired brain injury
  • Mental health needs
  • A learning disability

The group is very friendly and welcoming, and there is always time for an informal cuppa and catch up at the start of the day.  All our staff are fully trained and are on hand to assist if someone has a seizure.

The group meets on a Tuesday and a Thursday from 10am to 3.30pm, and has a varied program of activities, which is led by the members.  Group activities include:

  • Cinema trips
  • Bowling
  • Cooking
  • Community visits like meeting the police dogs and their handlers or a trip to a fire station
  • Visits to parks
  • Trips to museums and art galleries
  • Going out for lunch
  • Arts and crafts
  • Games including pool, table tennis, board games and quizzes
  • Themed parties throughout the year including Burns Supper, Valentine’s day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas
  • Summer BBQ or picnic in the park

People can either attend for a full or half day.  Some people bring a packed lunch, and others buy something to eat from our catering service.  We can provide supported travel to and from the group, or teach someone how to travel independently using public transport to enable them to attend.

Half day        £20
Full Day        £33.50
The cost for supported travel and travel training varies depending on time and distance.  We can work out this cost for you when you enquire.
