Information & Publications

Need help or advice?

Epilepsy Scotland provides a confidential Helpline (0808 800 2 200) and email information service (enquiries@epilepsyscotland.org.uk) to anyone affected by epilepsy.  On our website we have information specifically for people who have been recently diagnosed with epilepsy.  There is also a section on first seizures as people often contact us looking for more information on this.

We have given answers to the most frequently asked questions on our Helpline.  There are also details on research we have been involved with.  You can download our leaflets and publications on issues relating to epilepsy such as safety, driving, first aid and employment.

Working with the media

If you want to share your experiences of epilepsy with a journalist, you should always ask to see the draft article before it appears in a newspaper.

Have you been given a different version of your epilepsy medication?  Did this affect your seizure control?  If so, we would like to hear from you.  We want to raise awareness in the media about the importance of people with epilepsy maintaining seizure control through receiving the same brand of medication. Please call our Helpline on 0808 800 2200 or email enquiries@epilepsyscotland.org.uk if this has affected you.   For more information read our Position Statement
