Stand Up Night Out for Epilepsy

Added: 12 October 2012, 09:28

Five seasoned comics are raising funds for people with epilepsy by raising lots of laughs on Wednesday 17 October.  Comedy routines in aid of Epilepsy Scotland will be performed by Billy Kirkwood, Raymonds Mearns, Jojo Sutherland, John Gavin and Matt Winning.  These hilarious acts at the Stand Comedy Club in Glasgow’s west end are helping to support the national charity’s Stand up to Stigma campaign.

Chief Executive Lesslie Young explained: “Fun nights like this one draw in the crowds and draw attention to the discrimination that still occurs.  The more the public understands about epilepsy, the more people know how to deal with it appropriately.

“This fabulous line up of award winning humour offers a good night out for a good cause.  The proceeds will maintain our vital services which give assistance to 54,000 people living with epilepsy across the whole country.”

Tickets for The Stand Comedy Club, priced £10, are available online at or call 0141 427 4911 or buy at the door on the night.
