Hot, Hot, Hot – Firewalkers Guy Fawkes Challenge

Added: 29 October 2012, 11:23

Seventeen hardy souls will feel the heat as they firewalk to raise funds for Epilepsy Scotland on Sunday, 4 November at 6pm.  The leading charity’s car park in Govan will be transformed with paths of glowing coals heated to 1,200 degrees fahrenheit

Burning to be among the first to try this flaming way to fundraise is new board member Alan Dickson.  Several years ago his brother had a fatal seizure so Alan is keen to raise awareness of epilepsy as well as money for a cause close to his heart.
“There’s a full health and safety check on the ground and materials plus each firewalker has two hours intensive training beforehand so we know how to do this.  Yes, it is both scary and exciting to walk 20 feet over scalding embers in front of your family and friends.  Facing this tough challenge will be a huge personal achievement.  Each of us has raised a minimum £120 sponsorship to help Epilepsy Scotland’s work.  When people ask me what I did at the weekend I’ll say I had a blazing time!”

To take part go online to or call 0141 427 4911.
