Have a break on us ...

We all know how difficult life can be when you have a disability or when you look after someone with a disability, and you are on a low income.  Thoughts of a holiday are usually put on the back burner.  However, we can now offer a one week's stay in our brand new luxury caravan at Seton Sands, the Lothians to those families and individuals who are trying to make ends meet while caring for someone with a disability or coping with a disability themselves.

This has been made possible thanks to a very generous grant from Spifox which allowed us to purchase this luxury caravan.  A generous donation from Ikea went towards purchasing soft furnishings, and we also received support from players of  The People's Postcode Lottery.

The caravan can be hired from Friday to Friday between March and October.  You can now apply for this summer season, and you can start applying again for next year's season from November onwards.

All you pay is a one-off non-refundable administration fee of £90.  This includes all the facilities in the caravan and on-site entertainment.  We will even give a free entertainment pass to everyone staying at the caravan.   You are, however, responsible for your own travel costs.   If you need help with these, you can contact Turn2Us who can do a funders' search for you, to find charities or trusts that may be able to help you with these kind of expenses.

Our caravan sleeps up to 6 people (adults and children).  It is an extra wide 2 bedroom model, with a spacious interior and high quality fixtures and fittings.  The caravan may be suitable for someone with mobility issues, such as walking with the aid of a zimmer frame, however, please note that the caravan currently does not have a ramp.   It is, unfortunately, not wheelchair accessible.

The caravan is only a short walk away from the beach and there's plenty to do on-site such as evening entertainment, a swimming pool, kids club and playground.   There is also a good bus service into Edinburgh and surrounding areas for you to explore and enjoy.

Demand for this holiday will be high, so make sure you get your application in quick.  If you have any questions or want to talk to someone to find out if you may be eligible, contact Jacqui Telfer on 0131 6594730 or email caravan@epilepsyscotland.org.uk
