The Bighearted Scotland Charitable Trust was formed back in 1994 when a group of charities decided to work together to raise funds for their individual causes. Through working together we are able to organise and promote certain events we do not have the resources to do on our own.
Currently 5 charities are members; Epilepsy Scotland, Alcohol Focus Scotland, CLIC Sargent, Momentum and Penumbra.
By supporting Bighearted Scotland, your donation works by helping a wide range of good causes for both children and adults with a range of issues including epilepsy, special needs, exclusion, disability, cancer, mental health and alcohol problems while also promoting sensible drinking.
Bighearted Scotland has grown to be the leading charity partnership in Scotland. To date we have raised over £1 million to help thousands of children, teenagers and adults receive the best possible care and support their need to live happy and fulfilled lives.

Payroll Giving or Give as you Earn is a way for you to make regular payments to charity directly from your pay, tax-free. Each time you are paid, a donation amount which you choose is deducted by your payroll department before tax is calculated.
Just like we do for Epilepsy Scotland, we have people visiting work places presenting information on Bighearted Scotland and asking if you would like to sign up to a monthly/weekly donation.
Donations are deducted before tax so each £1 you give will only cost you 80p.
For example, if you are a basic rate tax payer:
If you are a higher rate taxpayer then it will cost you even less to donate £5.
Some employers offer a 'matched giving' scheme where they match or double your gift at no extra cost to you. It's always worthwhile checking to see if your employer operates a scheme like this as your donation will go so much further.
Check with your payroll department to see if they offer this scheme, fill in the paperwork and start giving.
If your company does not operate a scheme give us a call on 0141 427 4911 for more details on how to give.
Payroll Giving makes a huge difference to the work of all 6 charities that make up Bighearted Scotland. Thank you for your support.
