The Bighearted Scotland Charitable Trust was formed in 1994 when a group of charities decided to work together to raise vital funds for their individual causes. A donation to Bighearted Scotland works harder by helping a wide range of good causes for children, adults and animals with a range of issues including epilepsy, special needs, exclusion, animal protection, disability, cancer and mental health problems.
We have grown to be the leading charity partnership in Scotland; to date raising well over £1 million. This has helped to ensure that this diverse group of charities can continue to work hard in supporting a wide group of people and animals who need their help.
Bighearted Scotland raises funds for six special Scottish charities by encouraging payroll giving and through our supporters taking on sponsored activities and treks of a lifetime for us. These charities are: Penumbra, Erskine, OneKind, Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus Scotland, Momentum and Epilepsy Scotland.

Payroll Giving or Give as you Earn is a way for you to make regular payments to charity directly from your pay, tax-free. Each time you are paid, a donation amount which you choose is deducted by your payroll department before tax is calculated.
Just like we do for Epilepsy Scotland, we have people visiting work places presenting information on Bighearted Scotland and asking if you would like to sign up to a monthly/weekly donation.
Donations are deducted before tax so each £1 you give will only cost you 80p.
For example, if you are a basic rate tax payer:
If you are a higher rate taxpayer then it will cost you even less to donate £5.
Some employers offer a 'matched giving' scheme where they match or double your gift at no extra cost to you. It's always worthwhile checking to see if your employer operates a scheme like this as your donation will go so much further.
Check with your payroll department to see if they offer this scheme, fill in the paperwork and start giving.
If your company does not operate a scheme give us a call on 0141 427 4911 for more details on how to give.
Payroll Giving makes a huge difference to the work of all 6 charities that make up Bighearted Scotland. Thank you for your support.
